About Me

My name is Kat.  I’m a mom to three and a wife to one.  Three or so years ago, as my youngest child approached Kindergarten… I started to think about what I wanted to do with my life.  You see, for the past 11 + years,  I have spent my time at home, raising three kids.  I have been a cook, a tutor, a chauffeur, a healer of boo boos.  So as I contemplated about what I wanted to be when I “grew up” – I always came back to “Nurse”.  I don’t know why, exactly – but it lingered there, the thought of being a nurse. So I did my research about the schools in the area, and I started very slowly getting my sciences, etc. done at the local community college.  In the Summer of ’09, I was officially accepted into NURSING SCHOOL.  😀

I graduated with Highest Honors (Valedictorian) on December 16, 2011!

Shortly after graduation, I was hired as a FT nurse in a local Children’s Hospital. 🙂

Nursing:  It’s the scariest, and most awesome thing (outside of my three children) that I have ever undertaken.

LOVING EVERY  MINUTE OF IT!!!

  1. Aww, that was a really inspiring story to read! I will be starting my first year of nursing this year, but my mother will be going back to school after 18ish years away from the workforce (also three children;p), and it’s great to see such a success story! Congratulations on all your achievements!

  2. Kat, Enjoyed reading about you, and your blogs. I also had three children when I went through nurse school. Now, a long time ago…

  3. Hi Kat. I really enjoyed reading your inspiring story. My wife did the opposite. She was a nurse in the ICU for 8 years but after she had become a mom to 3 kids she had quitted . Now she is spending her time at home raising 7 children. I’ll be waiting for December 2011 i.e. 7 months from now to say CONGRATS Kat. Please visit my blog on http://alsaihani.blogspot.com

    Hi Kat,

Just wondering if it would be possible to include a link on your site to our nursing school site. I was hoping we can come to some arrangement. I am happy to negotiate payment in return for the link placement.

Please kindly get back to me with your thoughts.

    Hey,

I just wanted to reach and tell you that I love your blog.  I’ve been reading for several months now.  I always seem to find some great little nuggets in your articles that I can thoroughly related to in my nursing career.  Your voice really brings a unique tone and perspective to our blog niche.

I’d love to offer you a guest post if you would be interested.  I can come up with some ideas for the post, but I would be more than happy to write something of your choosing as well.  Is this something you would be interested in?  Let me know what you think.
    Thanks!
    Jesse
